Steph Buckley

Steph is a Physiotherapist and yoga teacher who brings her deep knowledge of the body to her classes.  She teaches vinyasa inspired yoga with a focus on building body awareness and confidence in the foundations of the physical practice while exploring ways of finding calm and stillness to carry off the mat and in to the day.

Steph’s personal yoga journey began 20+ years ago during her time working in the NHS in London.  The physical flow of the vinyasa style drew her in blending her childhood love of dance and her interest in anatomy and biomechanics.  The benefits of a regular practice on her mental and emotional health quickly became apparent and yoga turned in to her protected ‘me’ time during both a busy working life and then a busy family life.

With a move out of London and then overseas Steph took a career break and found the time and space to delve deeper through various courses and workshops culminating in a 200 hour YTT.  Since then she has continued to seek out further learning opportunities to develop her own understanding and to explore the value of yogic practices within the health and rehabilitation system.

She is now settled with her husband, 3 children and 2 dogs in Sussex and is enjoying sharing what she has learnt with those who practice with her.  All wobbles are welcome in Steph’s classes, they are the foundations of learning and progression.  She also believes props are everyone’s friend when it comes to making poses more accessible and enjoyable!
